Chicken dinner, blessing of the pets and more at Fox Chapel area churches

The church invites you to worship at 11 a.m. and Sunday school at 10 a.m.
The annual chicken dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Menu includes baked chicken breast, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, bread and dessert. Takeout is available at 412-828-2611. There will be a bake sale and Chinese auction. The church is at 921 North Ave. in Blawnox.
The church will host a blessing of the pets in honor of the feast day of St. Francis at 2 p.m. Oct. 6.
Coming up, the church will offer a series on dealing with bereavement. The first session will be “Caring for a Loved One with Alzheimer’s: An Emotional Journey” from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 16 in the parish hall.
Faith United Methodist
Pittsburgh District Lay Servant ministry school is coming to Roots of Faith, under the direction of Faith United.
Courses called “Leading Worship” and “Dismantling Racism” will be offered. Cost is $25.

Join the church at the 11 a.m. Sept. 29 service, which will feature the a capella sounds of the Solo Voci women’s choir.
Fox Chapel Presbyterian
The Harvest Fair will be Sept. 27-28 at the church, 384 Fox Chapel Road.
Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. for the Sept. 27 pre-sale. Admission is $5 with a canned good to be donated to the food bank.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 and admission is free.
