Logan McKaveney of O’Hara earned Boy Scouting’s highest rank when he successfully completed the Eagle Scout Board of Review on October 2, 2019. The son of Tom and Kimberly McKaveney, Logan led a team of youth and adult volunteers to build raised garden beds and deer fencing for the new Edible Walking Trail at Woodland Park in O’Hara Township. His project will allow township officials to continue to concentrate on remaining flood repairs incurred during the flooding of Woodland Park during the summer.
A graduate of Fox Chapel Area High School and A.W. Beattie, McKaveney credits his leaders from Troop 173 in Etna with keeping him on track to complete the project by his 18th birthday. He now attends Penn State New Kensington majoring in Electromechanical Engineering.
